You’ll be glad to hear that there are many environmentally friendly elements within the building and it benefits from great insulation that keeps you cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. It is set in the heart of the area called ‘the Retreat’ which is part of the Roosevelt National Park, in the Rocky Mountains.

The furniture is mainly American from the 1950’s and 60’s and except for the large chest in the centre of the room, which is an antique flour chest from the Swat region of Pakistan. Dividing the room is a brass and rosewood screen matching some of the other beautifully carved and engraved rosewood again from Pakistan.

The paintings on the walls, include the magnificent “Fulani Water Carriers”, from Nigeria. The medieval standing knight of the realm (guarding the wood-burning stove) and copper bedpans are from Britain given to Paul by his father to remind him of his home in Wales. There are double French doors that open onto the deck where the gas fired BBQ sits.

The property sits in 3 acres of land, has a creek to the right with a meadow to the left hand side, and at the foot, an aspen grove. Part of the deck overhangs the creek.

There is a well equipped kitchen, where you can watch the mule deer watching you washing up, with brand new refrigerator/freezer if you want to stock up on steak for the BBQ.

Wildlife travel through the yard all year, watch the majestic animals in there natural surroundings.
